The acquisition of this magnificent donor, Achtung, was a significant milestone in the history of our breeding program. Achtung was the unquestioned Grand Champion Female of the Beefmaster Futurity at the 1993 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She was bred and entered by the historic Hans Wittenburg Beefmaster program of Edna, Texas. Achtung started her production history with three consecutive AI calves, less than 360-day calving interval, and weaning ratios all above 110. We knew then we really had something, and decided to leverage her genetic impact in our breeding program through embryo transfer. Ultimately, we registered over 85 Achtung sons and daughters. Her bull production included too many herd bulls to count with two Houston Grand Champion Bulls among them. Her female production made an indelible mark on our cow herd, as well as many other ranches’. We still have producing donor daughters: JK Wild Honey, JK Tiger Blood and JK Achtung Model. We also have top end breeding stock up to four generations removed. We bred several herd bulls out of her over the years, and still AI to some of them today, primarily JK Centennial, by Spartacus. JK Performance Model, our current senior herd sire, is a 2010 polled grandson of hers, out of JK Achtung Model.
AVA
Cavalier x Sex Life
Ava is a key contributor in the most impactful Beefmaster cow family in a generation. Her full sister, Oasis of Cottage Farm, is older and has more production, but Ava is quietly establishing her genetic strength as well. She passed in 2015, but her contribution to confirmation and growth traits will continue for a generation through frozen embryos, as well as herd sires and seedstock dams out of her.
AUBURN LADY
Painted Tiger x L2 Maiden Lady
Auburn Lady is a fabulous cow. She has the “paragon udder” of our herd. She is among the most correct Painted Tiger daughters in the Beefmaster breed. When she is not producing embryos, she is nursing one of the heaviest calves in the pasture. She is accomplished at generating both top bulls and females, and we look forward to the many progeny who will make a significant impact in our program and market.
JK WILD HONEY
Painted Tiger x Achtung
JK Wild Honey is one of our Achtung donors who adds tremendous volume, angle, depth, thickness, capacity and easy fleshing characteristics. She has consistently produced clean underlines and good udders.
JK TIGER BLOOD

JK Tiger Blood is a strong, consistent producer of extra length, thickness and bone. She is among the cleanest underline producer in our donor herd with any sire we mate her with.
JK ACHTUNG MODEL
Polled Mandate x Achtung
We waited too long to make a donor out of this great cow. She probably possesses the most economically beneficial genetic and phenotypic characteristics in our herd. She is at the center of our polled program. Her polled son, JK Performance Model, now leads our bull battery with an exceptionally balance EPD profile. Several daughters will probably become future donors as well. Collier Farms recently added a son to their herd sire battery.
